Sky Sports analyst David Prutton predicts the Watford vs. Sunderland score.

This weekend, Sunderland plays Watford in the Championship.

On Saturday, Sunderland will go to Vicarage Road to take on Watford, and Mike Dodds and his team are keen to win.

Just two victories have been achieved by Dodds in his 12 games as temporary manager.

The Black Cats’ most recent performance was undoubtedly one of their worst of the season, if not ever under Dodds, as they fell 1-0 to Millwall at home.

Dodds has come under fire as a result of the loss, with Sunderland supporters taking their frustration with the temporary manager outside after full time.

H2H: Watford vs. Sunderland

Watford has been defeated by Sunderland 19 times in club history, with 16 draws and 11 losses.

Niall Huggins and Abdoullah Ba gave the Black Cats a 2-0 victory in the rematch at the Stadium of Light earlier in the season.

Although the Black Cats had only dropped a game against the Hornets since 2015, it was Sunderland’s first victory over Watford since 2016.

Watford has only defeated Sunderland at home once since 1999, the last time they triumphed 1-0 over the Black Cats at Vicarage Road in 2017.

David Prutton concerns Prediction for Watford vs. Sunderland’s score

With rather disappointing seasons behind them, both sides enter this game in bad shape.

Watford is now in 15th position in the standings and has only won one of its previous 11 games, while Sunderland is currently in 13th place and has only won two of its last 13.

After serving as interim head coach, the Hornets recently appointed Tom Cleverley.

As an interim, Cleverley managed one victory, one defeat, and five draws in seven games.

Additionally, Sky Sports commentator David Prutton projected a 2-2 outcome for Saturday’s match between Watford and Sunderland.

Mike Dodds needs a victory badly.
It appears that Dodds’ standing suffered somewhat following the Millwall loss in particular.

When the team selects a new manager in the summer, he appears to be retained, but if he ever wants to take the reins as manager, prospective employers may not be too happy with his most recent stint as Sunderland’s interim manager.

However, a victory here together with one against Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season would give him a mediocre record.

Watford might be easily acquired as they are currently in poor form.

Despite the fact that they have significantly improved in recent weeks, Cleverley, who was just appointed manager, will be keen to show himself in his first managerial role.

It’s all to play for on Saturday, and although if both sides are middling in the middle of the table, the game should be quite open and competitive.
