Dominik Thalhammer must make Fabio Jalo’s position known if Barnsley chooses to hire him. Additionally, observe

Dominik Thalhammer must ensure that Barnsley retains Fabio Jalo if he is named manager.

One of Barnsley’s most exciting young players to come out of the academy is Fabio Jalo, who the team is hoping may have a significant influence during the playoffs.

After a 1-1 draw against Northampton Town at home on the last day of the season, the Tykes were able to guarantee their spot in the League One play-offs. As a result, they will once more face Bolton Wanderers in the play-offs, having lost to them in the previous year’s semi-finals.

Last week, Barnsley took the significant step of firing manager Neill Collins following a record of just two victories in their previous 11 games.

This has led to a lot of speculation about Collins’ potential successor, with Dominik Thalhammer of Austria now being considered the front-runner to take over at Oakwell.

In the midst of a lot of rumored interest in Jalo, Thalhammer needs to be clear about his position on the player regardless of whichever division they end up in next season.

Many Premier League teams are interested in Fabio Jalo.
Jalo, an 18-year-old striker, moved from his home Portugal when he was 14 years old, and he has been with Barnsley since 2020.

Having won the title of Academy Player of the Season for the 21–22 season after tallying 27 goals in all competitions, he is held in high regard at the Oakwell academy. Then, he received his first professional contract as compensation.

After making his first team debut the previous season, he was rewarded for his efforts in January with a new contract that runs through 2027 with an option for an additional year extension from the club.

The striker, who was born in Lisbon, is still having an impact. Serie A and the Premier League are reportedly interested in him, and the Tykes turned down an offer from Lecce in the summer.

Barnsley should cling onto Fabio Jalo.

In the upcoming weeks, if Thalhammer is selected Barnsley’s manager, he must ensure Jalo stays at Oakwell.

Jalo is undoubtedly a very gifted attacker, and teams in two of the world’s top leagues hold him in high regard in addition to Barnsley.

He has the potential to be a very wealthy player for Barnsley in the future if he starts to play frequently and lives up to the potential that he has previously showed in flashes.

He has begun to have a greater influence on the squad in recent weeks. A few weeks ago, in a 2-2 draw with Reading, he scored his first league goal for the side after deflecting a header from a corner into his near post.

Jalo has the potential to be a true asset to Oakwell if he is given more opportunities in the future. When it comes to selling him later on, the new contract that was signed earlier this year will be quite important.

Devante Cole, who leads Barnsley in goals scored with 18, has a contract that expires in the summer, and there’s a potential he may leave the team. As a result, Jalo could be able to establish himself as Barnsley’s starting striker.

Jalo has a great deal of potential, and it’s critical that Thalhammer, or the chosen candidate, takes full advantage of it.
