Following the team’s loss against Bristol City, Rotherham United manager Steve Evans says he is “preparing document” for chairman.
As the 2023–24 season draws to a close, Rotherham United manager Steve Evans is working on a paper for Millers chairman Tony Stewart.

In their last league game, Evans’ team lost 2-0 to Bristol City, although Rotherham’s relegation has already been confirmed for a long time. Evans is scheduled to present a strategy to Stewart the following week. The team is already preparing for a return to League One.

Evans remarked, “This is one of the biggest challenges I have taken on, but I am confident that we can bounce back next season,” following the defeat at Ashton Gate. I’m working on a paper that will outline my goals and strategies for getting us back into the Championship for the chairman.

Stevenage manager Steve Evans fined and banned after breach of FA regulations at Peterborough United game.

“I will be brutally honest, as he has requested.” Next week, I will send the paper, and then the real work will start.

Tommy Conway’s penalty put Rotherham down at Ashton Gate, and Scott Twine increased the Robins’ lead shortly after. Evans acknowledged that his team did not deserve to win, but he maintained that Bristol City’s penalty kick should not have been given.

“We were definitely second best today,” he stated. Although Bristol City outperformed us technically, I was pleased with my players’ commitment to their assignment.

“Tom Eaves had a fantastic opportunity to start the scoring. They will argue that their goalie overreached himself to make the save, but goals decide games, thus it was a crucial play.

“I wish we had taken the lead so we could have seen how we performed. However, it was not meant to be, as the referee erred in awarding the penalty. I now know Tommy Conway wasn’t fouled, even though at the time I believed he went down late.

“Though I wasn’t sure there was a foul, there wasn’t much we could have done about the free-kick. However, the players persevered till the very end.
