Portsmouth Leading Ipswich Town, Mansfield Town, and Peterborough United in the hunt to sign Young, a 22-goal attacker

Chris Conn-Clarke of Altrincham is attracting interest from Ipswich Town and Portsmouth.

Peterborough United and Mansfield Town are both interested in signing the 22-year-old.

He scored 22 goals in all competitions last season.
Ipswich Town and Portsmouth are both interested in Altrincham forward Chris Conn-Clarke, according to a Football Transfers article published yesterday.

Conn-Clarke and his current squad were previously in contention for a spot in the EFL for next season, having qualified for the National League play-offs.

However, they were eliminated by Bromley, who went on to win the play-offs, and this may mean that Altrincham lose their best player during the summer transfer window.

He joined the club on a permanent basis from Fleetwood Town last summer, and Charlie Adam’s side is sure to be regretting their decision to let him leave after witnessing him excel in the fifth division last season.

With the Lancashire club demoted to League Two, they might face their former striker next season, or he could rise above them in the English football pyramid.

The Northern Irishman began his career in his own country before heading to Burnley and then Fleetwood, and it would not be surprising to see him play at the same level as the Clarets next season.

Interest is growing in Chris Conn-Clarke.

Football Transfers have revealed how much attention the 22-year-old is now receiving.

Premier League newcomers Ipswich are said to be interested in the youngster, but the attacker will have to go four levels up the football pyramid if he wants to join the Tractor Boys.

Pompey, who have been promoted to the Championship, are also thought to be interested in the player. However, it remains to be seen if he can make such a great leap.

Both are likely to participate in League One next season, following the former’s loss to Oxford United in the play-off semis yesterday.

However, all parties involved would have to pay a significant sum of money to complete this transaction.

This is because his current contract does not expire until the summer of 2026, giving the non-league team a strong negotiation position.

Chris Conn-Clarke has to examine his future carefully.
Conn-Clarke might make a life-changing move by moving to a top-flight or second-tier club.

He would be paid well and may be loaned out to a lower-league club.

This is why a move to a team in the top two levels may be appealing, given his scoring record, which has earned him attention that high up the pyramid.

However, a move to a third- or fourth-tier club would allow him to settle in, play well, and maybe move on in a few years.

The Northern Irishman is now 22, therefore he may not want to go out on loan.

This is why Peterborough and Mansfield have just as much chance of recruiting the 22-year-old as higher-level clubs.
