A Europa League team bids to recruit the Middlesbrough star. Michael Carrick called it “wonderful.”

One of Middlesbrough’s senior players has received a transfer offer from a European team.

In less than a week, the summer transfer market for 2024 has opened, and Middlesbrough has already been quite busy.

Under manager Michael Carrick, the Championship team is aiming to make it to the Premier League for the third time in its history.

Luke Ayling, a right-back who made an impression on loan at Leeds United last season, will join Boro on a free transfer as part of their efforts to secure a return to the top flight.

In other news, Aidan Morris, a midfielder for the Columbus Crew, is close to finalizing a £3.14 million transfer to Teesside.

At the other end of the field, Delano Burgzorg, who spent the previous season on loan with Huddersfield Town, has joined Boro permanently from German team Mainz 05

Additionally, there could be action on the outings front, as the North East team has put right-back Anfernee Dijksteel up for sale.

Dan Barlaser receives a transfer offer from Middlesbrough

In addition to Dijksteel, a Europa League team’s approach may cause another top Middlesbrough player to depart the region this summer.

The man in question is Dan Barlaser, a 27-year-old central midfielder who joined Boro in January 2023 after leaving Rotherham United.

Turkish publication 61 Saat [via Sport Witness] claims that Trabzonspor, who will compete in the Europa League the next season, had approached Barlaser directly and extended an offer to Middlesbrough for his acquisition.

The midfielder, who made 33 Championship appearances for the Teessiders last season, is reportedly a huge admirer of the Turkish squad’s scouting unit.

Michael Carrick called Dan Barlaser “incredibly amazing.”

Barlaser has failed to hold down a regular starting spot for Middlesbrough since joining the team.

Michael Carrick, the manager, seems to still think highly of the player, calling him “terrific” after a 2023 victory against West Brom:

According to Teesside Live, Carrick stated, “Dan has been playing well.” “He’s been performing really well. He and Jonny have been the driving forces behind a lot of our excellent play, and they have a great working relationship. He was excellent. From there, he has such excellent game control.

Law McCabe’s transfer to Middlesbrough might be made possible by Dan Barlaser
Barlaser’s playing time was restricted at the conclusion of 2023–2024, though, as he only made one start in Boro’s final four league games of the year.

It is anticipated that the impending arrival of Aidan Morris would cause the Englishman to fall lower down the Middlesbrough midfield hierarchy.

Because Barlaser’s sale would provide an academy star more playing time in the first team, Middlesbrough might want to approve of it.

Law McCabe, an 18-year-old talent, earned his senior debut for the Teessiders last season after contributing five assists and four goals in 33 U18 Premier League games.

In his few appearances, the teenager made an impression, and he even started ahead of Barlaser in Boro’s season-ending match against Watford.

Therefore, it could be a good idea for Boro to sell Barlaser this summer in order to free up some cash for other business ventures and provide McCabe the opportunity to gain some much-needed first-team experience.
