Eagles’ $45 million Pro Bowl star Haason Reddick to the Texans in a Possible Trade The Philadelphia Eagles are considering deals for the two-time Pro Bowl player. Hours before Super Bowl 58, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport released a shocking revelation stating that the Eagles are letting Reddick consider trades.

In a February 11, 2024 X message, Rapoport said, “Sources: Eagles All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick has received permission to seek a trade following another disruptive season featuring double digit sacks.” “The 29-year-old might end up somewhere else after recording 27 sacks in two seasons with Philadelphia.”

Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus suggests a possible trade deal for the Eagles that would send Reddick to the Houston Texans. In return, the Eagles receive the No. 59 overall selection.

For most Philadelphia supporters, trading Reddick for even a second-round selection will be inconvenient. Reddick and Will Anderson Jr., the defensive rookie of the year, would be a formidable combination for the Texans.

This isn’t a move taken in response to Reddick’s lack of output. Reddick’s three-year, $45 million deal is about to expire.

In 2024, the standout pass rusher’s salary is expected to be $14.2 million, with a $21.3 million cap hit. Reddick’s trade value may suffer because he just has one season left on his contract and a lucrative extension is about to expire.

With his pass-rush grade falling from 90.0 to 75.2, his pass-rush win percentage dropping from 16.8% to 14.4%, and his pressure rate rising, Reddick wasn’t nearly as effective in 2023.

“Teams will contact Philadelphia in search of a smaller outside linebacker with good bend around the edge, rapid pressure production, and the ability to get upfield quickly. They will also likely try to extend Reddick as part of the deal. The Houston Texans will switch to a pass-rush specialist to play opposite Will Anderson Jr. if they are unable to sign Jonathan Greenard in free agency.
