NFL executive VP of football operations Troy Vincent stated on Thursday that the league will not take any action over the popularized quarterback sneak version, despite rumors to the contrary. The quarterback sneak variation was made popular by the Eagles.

Vincent stated on PFT Live, “Don’t punish a team that strategically does it well.”
Vincent claims that the general consensus in the NFL is to give the Eagles credit for their performance.

“What an amazing success rate they have.” said  Vincent

The “Tush Push” was not even discussed during this week’s league competition committee meeting at the NFL combine in Indianapolis, according to Vincent. However, the play is anticipated to be discussed during the league meetings in Orlando next month, so anyone having thoughts on it is welcome to voice them.

In December, The Athletic revealed that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell intended to outlaw the “Tush Push,” in which two players shove the quarterback—in this case, Jalen Hurts of the Eagles—over the line in an attempt to score on a sneak.

Troy Vincent is an Eagles Hall of Famer. He knows this team is getting a precious Super Bowl opportunity.

A few days later, Eagles center Jason Kelce addressed the claim, saying he was tired of hearing people talk about the play, which is also referred to as the Brotherly Shove.

“Pay attention, outlaw it. Right now, it doesn’t bother me. On their “New Heights” podcast with brother Travis at the time, Kelce stated, “I’m over the discussion about it.”
“.. Before the surge, we were quite skilled at running quarterback sneaks. It’s not a vital component for it, in my opinion. There is no doubt that it is helpful.

“I don’t have the energy to worry about it being prohibited. Because we’re skilled at it and it works, we’re going to continue with it as is. Regardless of what they decide to do for the upcoming season, we’ll find a way to execute it well.
