Observing the Future: Alabama commitments’ high school football seasons are almost approaching.

Football season is almost here. It was enjoyable to write it.

Fans of Alabama have had an exciting summer, and there is much to be happy about in Tuscaloosa as they prepare for their home game against Western Kentucky on August 31 to begin the Kalen DeBoer era.

With the second-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, the Crimson Tide are expected to start the 2024–2025 season. Four five-star players, five players in the top-50, eight in the top-100, and fourteen in the top-247 are all part of this group. There are strong candidates at almost every position in the group, and many will strive to move up in the rankings as high school football seasons get closer nationwide.

In precisely one week, linebacker Jaedon Harmon of Rome (Ga.) High School will start his senior season. against Friday, August 16, Harmon and the Wolves will take against Creekside in the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic. Bama247 will be present to witness the four-star prospect for the first time in person.

What time do the remaining commitments begin their seasons? Bama247’s “week 1” schedule is complete!

When it comes to preseason College Football Playoff predictions, it’s time to speak up or go silent. Despite some predicted losses, a number of teams are in the running for at-large places. The selection committee has never included a team with two losses, but that will change when the champions of the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, and Group of Five conferences are determined. Seven at-large berths will be available.

Neither a Big 12 nor an ACC club was mentioned in this discussion about three losses since it’s difficult to imagine anything other than a conference champion after three losses.

When it comes to identifying teams who have several opportunities to win quality games, schedule strength is crucial. That is how one should approach a daunting slate that is rife with potential mines in a constructive way.

With the knowledge that the Wolverines do not need to maintain the longest winning run in the country in order to qualify for the playoffs, Sherrone Moore can relax ahead of his debut season at Michigan. Running the tables without those three games would still be quite impressive for Moore and his staff because Michigan faces three opponents that are listed in the top five in the preseason. Given the overall strength of the league, the Wolverines, like most of the teams in this conversation about a three-loss possibility, almost certainly make the playoffs if they advance to the Big Ten Championship with just two losses.

Since Texas visits Ann Arbor in Week 2, Michigan does not have much time to determine what its offensive combinations are and are not in September. Although Michigan has chances to succeed later this autumn, the Longhorns have less uncertainties and are now in better position as a candidate for the national title. In the event that this potential three-loss scenario materializes, the home game versus USC in Week Four is imperative.
