With two home runs from rookie Jackson Chourio, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Atlanta Braves 16–7 to finish the series.

The Milwaukee Brewers trounced the Atlanta Braves 16-7 on Thursday to finish the series sweep thanks to a six-homer, 20-hit outburst that included two two-run home runs by rookie Jackson Chourio.

The NL Central-leading Brewers have only swept the Braves four times, and this was their second consecutive sweep in Atlanta. The other sweep took place in 2016. The Braves are currently on a five-game losing run after giving up 36 hits in their last two games and dropping the series 34-12.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy stated, “We played good defense, kind of unnoticed, to come here in their ballpark where we haven’t had a lot of success recently and play well all three days regardless of the outcome.” We played balls in play, ran pitch counts up, and scratched and pecked away offensively.

Jake Bauers, William Contreras, Garrett Mitchell, and Willy Adames all hit home runs for the Brewers in addition to Chourio, who finished 3 for 5 with four RBIs.

At 20 years and 150 days, Chourio made Brewers history as the team’s youngest player to ever hit two home runs in a single game.

In 1985, Billy Jo Robidoux set the record at age 21 years and 266 days. In addition, Chourio is the youngest baseball player to do this since Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of Toronto in 2019.

Through an interpreter, Chourio remarked, “Right now, we’re in an amazing moment.” “We’re simply getting extremely fantastic outcomes and communicating really well together. There’s a lot of life in this dugout.

Sal Frelick went 4 for 5 with two RBIs, Mitchell went 2 for 4 with an RBI and three runs, and Contreras went 3 for 5 with three RBIs for the Brewers.

Austin Riley went 2 for 5 for Atlanta, including a three-run home run, while Marcell Ozuna went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, including a solo home bomb to left field that was 440 feet long.

This season, both clubs have hit at least eight home runs in a big league game seven times combined.

Frankie Montas, a right-hander, started the Brewers’ opening four innings. Riley’s home run in the third inning caused him some problems, but other from that, he was almost unhittable. He struck out seven batters while allowing only two hits, including his first five outs.
