After unsuccessful trade attempts, Warriors fans won’t have to wait long to watch Lauri Markkanen.

The NBA schedule was made public on Thursday afternoon, and Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors learned that they would be embarking on a two-game road trip to start the season. The second game on that schedule comes away against the Utah Jazz, a team with whom the Warriors have advanced trade negotiations this season in an effort to acquire forward Lauri Markkanen and provide Curry with a partner of the highest caliber.
Rather, the negotiations broke down, Markkanen agreed to a contract extension, and now, 48 hours into the Warriors’ campaign, the team will have to answer the question, “What if?”

The Portland Trail Blazers, who are predicted to be among the worst NBA teams this season, will be the opponent in the first game of the season, which takes place on the road.

All things considered, it makes sense that Golden State may be two games above.500 before they play their first home game of the season.

An annoying off-season

Following the Warriors’ Play-In game defeat to the Sacramento Kings in 2017, almost everyone on Earth—aside from Mike Dunleavy, it seems—saw that the team needed a significant overhaul.
