Missouri’s Kansas City The Detroit Lions are hopeful about other players who left Saturday’s 24-23 exhibition victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, but they believe they have lost receiver Tre’Quan Smith to a long-term hand injury.

The Lions may view that as their greatest victory to date following a difficult week regarding injuries, even though they are sympathetic to the young receiver.

Head coach Dan Campbell stated, “Tre’Quan Smith is the one player that could be out for a little while.” “He sustained a hand wound. For everything else, I believe the long run will be OK.

This year’s free-agent addition Smith seemed unlikely to make the squad since he failed to catch a ball in either of the preseason games.

Both edge rusher Malik Jefferson (finger) and offensive lineman Dan Skipper (ankle) exited the game and did not come back, but Campbell is confident that both players will be OK.

“It should be fine, Skip,” Campbell stated. It seems to be an ankle. He will undoubtedly have some short-term pain, but nothing severe.
