The all-time leading player for the Wolves just wrote a farewell message ahead of their move to Saudi Arabia, but they aren’t mentioned.
The winger’s future was unclear as soon as he arrived back at Compton following a season-long loan at Olympiacos. The summer began with his homecoming.
Although it appeared that Podence would remain with Wolves, the Portuguese striker has already severed relations in order to start a new business with Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia.

Podence declared his exit on social media as soon as the Saudi Pro League team revealed his transfer to Al-Shabab.
The 28-year-old thanked supporters and expressed his respect for his previous team, Olympiacos, in a long Instagram message.
In his departure remarks, Podence did not thank Wolves but rather his supporters in Piraeus, concentrating instead on his return to Olympiacos for the 2023–24 campaign.
Podence said goodbye to the Greek side with phrases like “Thank you to the best fans in the world!”, “I will remember forever,” and “I feel like I’m letting you down,” without mentioning the team that had hosted him for four years.
One of the more interesting parts of the winger’s farewell was when he returned to Wolves in July after his season-long loan at Olympiacos expired. It read:
“I had to wake up in July to realize that football is about more than just quality and happiness; I was living the dream.”
Though the 28-year-old’s farewell leaves much to be desired, it’s a pleasure to see the transfer drama come to an end given the rumors and feeling of uncertainty surrounding Podence’s brief comeback to Wolves.
