The arrival of Marvin Harrison Jr.
In Week 2, the rookie wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals showed off his abilities against the Los Angeles Rams, catching two touchdowns that were entertaining to watch repeatedly.
He scored on the Cardinals’ opening possession, so the touchdowns came fast and furious.
The Rams were unable to convert on a fourth down, and the Cardinals seized the lead offensively when Kyler Murray connected with his standout receiver for a 60-yard gain. He dropped back and hit Harrison Jr. with a pass that resulted in a spectacular over-the-shoulder catch that was good for a 23-yard score.
The touchdown call was affirmed, thus there was no need to worry about the play being reviewed. Harrison Jr.’s first touchdown of his career would come from this.
Harrison Jr., nevertheless, was not done. On the Cardinals’ third drive after going three and out, Murray scrambled. The Cardinals took an early 14-0 lead after he ultimately hit Harrison Jr. on a 60-yard bomb. They also connected on another touchdown play. To end the first quarter, Harrison Jr. added two more receptions: one for 15 yards and another for 32 yards.
With the fourth overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cardinals chose Harrison Jr. from Ohio State to provide Murray with yet another potent offensive weapon.
Before the draft, Harrison Jr. was hailed as a generational prospect because of his outstanding play while he was a member of the Buckeyes. Naturally, Harrison Jr. comes from an amazing family. One of the best wide receivers in NFL history is his father, Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison Sr.
Harrison Jr.’s first-week effort against the Buffalo Bills was lackluster; he only managed four receiving yards and no touchdowns.
The Bills would prevail in a close game 34-28.
Harrison Jr. silenced any skeptics with two spectacular touchdowns against the Rams in the first half, building on his Week 1 performance.
It’s safe to say that in Week 2, the gifted receiver has established himself.
