SAD NEWS: Coach of the Diego Padres Provides Concerning Injury Update On 25-Year-Old Star Before Next Game
The San Diego Padres, who won Game 3 of their NLDS series to take a 2-1 lead, will be the team eliminating the Los Angeles Dodgers for the third time in as many postseasons. The Dodgers tried a rally, down 6-1 at one point, but the Padres held on to win. To make matters worse, shortstop Miguel Rojas exited the game with a groin injury, which was another blow for the Dodgers.
Shortly before Teoscar Hernandez’s home slam gave the Dodgers some life and hope for a comeback, Miguel Rojas departed Game 3 of the NLDS with the club trailing the Padres 6-1. Rojas seemed to injure himself while jogging to third base, so manager Dave Roberts substituted pinch runner Andy Pages for him.
The shortstop was obviously hurting as he slowly left the field on his own. Miguel Rojas had been playing with the injury he’d incurred at the end of the regular season, and the re-aggravation in Game 3 of the NLDS caused him to exit the game.
Furthermore, Freddie Freeman, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, said that he was available only seconds before Game 3. If the Dodgers hope to save their season, they must put up maximum effort right now.
For example, they will have to rely more on Teoscar Hernandez and Shohei Ohtani, who each reduced the Padres’ five-run lead to just one run with a single swing. This club was essentially run out of the NLDS by the Arizona Diamondbacks last season.
“We were able to battle back despite a number of blunders we made that lost us some runs. According to an NBC 4 Los Angeles report by Michael Duarte, Ohtani stated, “The important thing tomorrow is to make sure the momentum is on our side.”
Win or head home
The Dodgers are used to facing elimination in a difficult environment, but they don’t want to continue staging comebacks all postseason long. Whatever the case, if they choose to continue playing, they need to find a method to win postseason games.
In Game 2 of the National League Division Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, first baseman Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been benched. Illness in his ankle forced Freeman to leave the game in the sixth inning; he is now “day to day,” broadcaster Ken Rosenthal said.
Freeman suffered an ankle injury during the Dodgers’ division-clinching series against the Padres on September 26. This injury persisted throughout the NLDS. Freeman sprained his ankle, which he later described as the worst injury he had ever experienced while playing. In an attempt to rest his ankle ailment, Freeman did not travel with the Dodgers for their final series of the regular season against the Colorado Rockies.
Prior to the game and even on the day of Game 1, Freeman’s health had been questioned during the previous week.
The Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, did not know if Freeman would play until only four hours before Game 1 of the NLDS against the Padres on Saturday. By taking his medicine and warming up before the game, Freeman was able to play on Saturday.
In addition to playing despite a 4-6 week absence due to injury, Freeman contributed two hits in five at-bats during the Dodgers’ 7-5 victory. His teammates were shocked to learn that Freeman had even stolen a base.
About his stolen base, Freeman stated, via Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, “I know I took a big risk with how I’m feeling, but it was just the opportunity presented itself and I had to go for it.” “I should not be out there if I am unable to play the game properly, as I stated before the game.”
Freeman intended to carry out his pre-game routine once more before Game 2 following Saturday’s match. Freeman did not collect any hits in his two at-bats before to being removed from the game in the sixth inning on Sunday.
Max Muncy shifted to first base and Kiké Hernández is stepping in at third base with Freeman out. The Dodgers have only scored one run through six innings, on a sacrifice fly by Gavin Lux.
Freeman’s availability for Game 3 is probably uncertain. Monday is off for the Dodgers and Padres before the NLDS resumes at Petco Park on Tuesday and Wednesday.
