Following a disappointing midweek loss to SC Freiburg in the first leg of the Europa League semifinal, West Ham United welcomed Burnley, a team headed for Premier League relegation at the first attempt following a terrible season back in the top division.
Although it appeared like the Hammers would have an easy job ahead of them, Vincent Kompany’s team nearly startled the London Stadium with a 2-2 tie. The former Southampton captain had a forgettable performance at the London Stadium and was taken off at halftime. But even without the midfielder, Paqueta and Ings goals prevented the Hammers from winning all three points.
In all, Ward-Prowse lost every ground duel.
