When the Seattle Seahawks play Atlanta on Sunday in Week 7, they could be forced to use their fourth-string right tackle.

Two of their top three cornerbacks may also be out.

The issues with the Seahawks’ run defense that Mark Schlereth observes

According to Seattle’s injury report, cornerback Tre Brown (ankle), right tackle Stone Forsythe (hand), and cornerback Riq Woolen (ankle) all missed practice on Thursday for the second day in a row. Third-string running back Kenny McIntosh (foot) and wide receiver Tyler Lockett (knee) were both listed as non-participants, but Lockett could have simply been taking a veteran rest day.

Since Week 1’s first quarter, Forsythe has been the Seahawks’ third-string right tackle. Abraham Lucas, Seattle’s starting right tackle, was placed on the physically unable to perform list before the start of the season due to his ongoing recuperation from knee surgery that was done in the summer. Lucas was replaced at the beginning of the season by veteran backup George Fant, but Forsythe had to step in after Fant had a knee injury. Fant is still listed as an injured reserve player.

The Seahawks will offer game status updates on their injured players after releasing one last injury report on Friday.

The identity of Seattle’s fourth-string right tackle is unknown. Jason Peters, 42, a former nine-time Pro Bowl player who joined the Seahawks’ practice squad on October 1, is one potential candidate. Last season, Peters filled in for injury and made eight appearances for Seattle, including two starts.

Brown and Woolen, meanwhile, could also have to miss Sunday’s game. Woolen missed last week’s game against San Francisco after hurting his ankle against the New York Giants in Week 5. Early in last week’s game, Brown injured his ankle and was unable to return.

Byron Murphy II, a rookie defensive lineman, informed reporters Thursday that he intends to play on Sunday, which is fantastic news for Seattle. Murphy, who was selected 16th overall in the NFL Draft in April, has been sidelined for the last three games due to a hamstring issue. Murphy stated, “I’m confident and feeling great – 100 percent good,” despite being designated as a limited participant in practice for the last two days.

Another encouraging sign is that after missing Wednesday’s practice, starting right guard Anthony Bradford (toe) was classified as a full participant.

After being limited on Wednesday, defensive end Leonard Williams (knee), outside linebacker Boye Mafe (knee), and starting center Connor Williams (chest) were all classified as full participants. After missing Wednesday’s practice, wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. (back) also participated fully.

Over the previous several weeks, the Seahawks have suffered a number of injuries, particularly on defense. Three defensive players are presently on the injured reserve for Seattle: reserve cornerback Artie Burns (toe), starting outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (thigh), and starting safety Rayshawn Jenkins (hand).
