Surprisingly, the Dallas Cowboys decided to run it back with a roster that was almost the same as last year after their third consecutive 12-5 season that ended in an early playoff elimination. The team, at 3-3 and in third place in a comparatively weak NFC East, has not benefited from that tranquil summer.

The Cowboys are a pitiful No. 12 in yardage and No. 20 in scoring after finishing in the top five in both categories the previous season, but offensive problems are undoubtedly at least partially to blame for this lackluster start.
