WMTV, Madison, Wisconsin Rachel Bouressa was appointed to the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board by Governor Tony Evers, who made the announcement on Friday.
In addition to being a member of the local farmers union and bureau chapters, Bouressa now serves as the director at large on the Wisconsin Farmers Union board. She does management-intensive rotational grazing on her family’s farm near New London.
“I’ve always had a passion for the connection between agriculture and conservation, as a fifth-generation farmer and an advocate for farming and preserving our natural resources,” Bouressa said. “I am eager to learn and get to work, and it is an honor to represent our farmers on the Natural Resources Board.”
Bouressa holds a master’s degree in agroecology and degrees in environmental science and agronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She also participates in the Wisconsin Women in Conservation program, Grass Works, and the Central Wisconsin Graziers Network.
“I am thrilled that Rachel Bouressa will join the Board and contribute her extensive experience and knowledge in environmental science and agriculture,” Governor Evers remarked.
She manages a herd of about 90 cattle on her family’s 120-acre farm, where she frequently interacts with the locals and gives farm tours.A new member of the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board is appointed by Governor Evers.
