Good news: After Nick Suzuki declined a contract offer, the Montreal Canadiens agreed to sign another highly experienced player to take his position.
The Montreal Canadiens are a little uncertain as Ezoic Patrick Laine recovers from a knee injury. To begin the season, he was placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR). A left knee sprain was predicted to keep the 26-year-old winger out of action for two to three months. The good news was that there would be no need for surgery. Laine was expected to be out until December, according to the medical prognosis at the time. He would therefore miss a significant amount of the early 2024–25 season.
But there is good news for the Canadiens today (as seen in the video below). Laine was captured on camera while skating.
Could Laine Change the Canadiens’ Game?
If Laine can remain healthy for the rest of the year, what are his expectations? When he rejoins the lineup, he is anticipated to play in the top six. Additionally, he will secure a position on the top power-play unit. He’s always been a potent offensive player. Even with a slower start to the season, he can contribute to special teams. Additionally, he can generate scoring opportunities, which may be crucial to Montreal’s offensive prowess.
Perhaps this means that his injury wasn’t worse than expected, and he might soon be on the ice for the Canadiens. They will need his attacking touch whenever he returns.
