Noles News: FSU is traveling to Duval for a two-day minicamp in Jacksonville
Following two sessions in Tallahassee, Florida State football is currently traveling down I-10 to DUUUUUVVVALLLL, an annual event that has been carried out ever since head coach Mike Norvell assumed the position. From Dunlap, Jordan Silversmith has the details:
Norvell eased up on the workload and concentrated mostly on situational football, special teams, and crossover work following yesterday’s hard practice.
The offense and defense switched positions at the start of the game to practice safe ball handling and proper tackling. The squad then participated in the first 11-on-11 situational phase.
One of the most impressive attacking drives of the spring was put together by DJ Uiagaelelei. He displayed composure in the pocket, maintaining his gaze downfield and prolonging plays when necessary. With every drill, his rapport with Malik Benson deepens, and the two get together for a number of intermediate routes over the middle. Ryan Fitzgerald finished the practice with three points as the transfer quarterback guided his side into field goal range.
By late morning, the defense had reacted with a fierce pass rush and smothering backside coverage. Their inventiveness and passion outclassed the offensive onslaught, and they won the third down phase of drill with ease.
