A Week From Now: 5-Star OT Josh Petty gives a sneak peek at his next choice and declaration.
Josh Petty, a five-star offensive lineman from Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia, will make his declaration in a week. He discussed that impending stage of his recruiting on Monday.
“Things are hectic and crazy as we approach decision day,” Petty remarked on Monday at the Corky Kell Luncheon in Atlanta, Georgia. “I’m excited, frightened, joyous, and a little bit of everything else since my recruitment is finally coming to a finish. I’m completely prepared. It’s been a long time coming, and now that it’s here, it seems almost like acceptance.”

Remarks about Edwin Joseph, Elijah Moore, and other notable artists of the day
After a scrimmage and a few of less-than-stellar sessions, this seemed like a pretty wonderful reaction. Excellent energy, with guys generating plays as they move back and forth between the two sides of the ball.
Now let’s talk about what or who stood out.
The top-25 college football quarterbacks are extremely subjective and may be determined by a number of factors, including word-of-mouth, predicted productivity, video, and comparison to peers. Preseason news caused a significant reorganization of the SEC quarterback rankings last month, which is represented below along with a few newcomers to the top 25.
There is a vacancy at the top of the sport with multiple potential superstars about to emerge, but ranking the best quarterbacks in the country is difficult given that five quarterbacks were selected in the first round of the NFL Draft earlier this year. The majority of the players are stars for teams who are in the running, and several of them are expected to participate in the first College Football Playoff later this season.

Avery Johnson (Kansas State), Preston Stone (SMU), Haynes King (Georgia Tech), KJ Jefferson (UCF), Kyron Drones (Virginia Tech), Donovan Smith (Houston), Graham Mertz (Florida), Jackson Arnold (Oklahoma), Mark Gronowski (South Dakota State), Tyler Van Dyke (Wisconsin), Joey Aguilar (Appalachian State), Chandler Rodgers (Cal), and Maalik Murphy (Duke) are a few honorable mention quarterbacks who narrowly missed the cut ahead of the season openers.
