The competition for WNBA Rookie of the Year has pitted Chicago Sky big Angel Reese against Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. Even while both players have ardent followers who believe they should win Rookie of the Year, it is impossible to deny the historic significance of their individual rookie seasons. Reese won’t be able to support her Rookie of the Year argument since she will miss the last six games of the regular season. Since the Olympic break, Clark has averaged 24.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on 47/40/93 splits,
which has done a great deal for her personal cause. With a 7-2 record and these stats, Clark has guided Indiana to their first postseason appearance since 2016.
With a league-high 16.0 rebounds per game and an average of 13.8 points after the break, Reese was also playing well. Chicago’s record in these games was merely 2-8, and their victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday ended a seven-game losing slide. Although a lot of people believe that the WNBA Rookie of the Year award was already chosen, Reese’s announcement tragically eliminates any opportunity she may have had to improve her position.
